YWCA of Bethlehem: Breaking the Glass Ceiling Gala

YWCA

First Generation is pleased to continue our “12 Weeks of Christmas” program with a $1,000 donation to the YWCA of Bethlehem, an organization devoted to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

YWCAYWCA of Bethlehem strengthens the community through various programs supporting women’s empowerment, family empowerment and racial justice. These initiatives include WAND (Women Achieving New Direction), Women’s Health: Neighbor to Neighbor, Adult Day Services Center, Residential Services, Study Circles, Intercultural Reading Circles and the Racial Justice Education Program.

The YWCA recently announced the winners of its 2nd annual Breaking the Glass Ceiling Gala, and First Generation was chosen for the “Community Leadership Award” for our devotion to philanthropy and goodwill in the Lehigh Valley community. FG will be among those honored at the event on Saturday, October 26th at 5PM at the Lehigh University Mountaintop Campus. The event will feature a lecture from keynote speaker Lilly Ledbetter, a legendary advocate for equal rights in the workplace.

YWCAThe Gala will recognize the contributions of YWCA’s corporate sponsors and praise businesses and organizations dedicated to “breaking the glass ceiling” in the local community. A corporate sponsor for the Gala, First Generation embodies the core principles of YWCA — striving to empower female professionals in the workforce and advocating for peace and justice in the community through our philanthropic spirit. Our corporate values exemplify those that “break the glass ceiling,” paving a better way for our employees and citizens in our community.
